Venice & Verona

The first picture is the Bridge of Sighs taken from our gondola followed by scenes from Venice. The 10th picture is a villa that was behind our hotel near Venice. That hotel was one of our favorites. The food was great and they even gave us a suite.
The second to last picture is from Verona home of Romeo & Juliet. That is supposed to be her balcony with her statue below. Local legend says it is good luck to touch Juliet's right breast. Greg is getting lucky with Juliet.
Surprisingly, Verona was one of my favorite places in Italy. It is beautiful a city close to Venice, Bologna, Milan and the Lake District and it is clean without the crowds of Rome, Florence & Venice. Only Rome has more ruins and its Colosseum (11th picture) is still used today for operas. There was a farmers market in the square where we bought lunch and ate in the park next to the Colosseum (12th picture).
